Viral Launch stopped accepting new customers on 5 January 2026. If you are here, you are probably one of the tens of thousands of Amazon sellers now looking for a replacement -- either because your subscription expired, or because you joined Amazon FBA after that date and the signup page was already gone.
Here is what actually happened, and what to use instead.
TL;DR verdict
Helium 10 is the most complete direct replacement for Viral Launch -- it covers every function VL had (product research, keyword data, listing optimisation, PPC tools) plus considerably more. SmartScout is the better choice if what you miss most is Viral Launch's market intelligence layer. For most former Viral Launch users, Helium 10 Platinum at $99/month is the call. Use code SELLERSTACK20 for 20% off for six months. See our testing methodology for how we evaluated these tools.
What happened to Viral Launch?
Viral Launch was acquired by Worldeye Technologies in 2023 and folded into a parent brand called Seller Suite alongside Intellifox, BidX, and DataHawk. On 5 January 2026, it stopped accepting new sign-ups. The website now redirects to Intellifox. Existing customers can still access the legacy app, but there is no pricing page, no trial, and no path for new sellers to join.
The shutdown was not a sudden collapse. It was a quiet wind-down -- the kind where the product technically exists but functionally disappears for anyone who did not already have an account. Former Viral Launch users have been migrating to Helium 10 and Jungle Scout in the highest numbers, according to seller community discussions on Amazon FBA forums tracked since the shutdown.
How did we evaluate the alternatives?
I tested the leading replacements across two Amazon accounts in the health supplements and kitchen accessories categories from May to August 2026. Evaluation criteria mapped directly to what Viral Launch did: product discovery, keyword research, competitor analysis, listing optimisation, and account monitoring. I did not include tools that only partially replace VL or that require a different workflow entirely.
For tools where I have published standalone reviews -- Helium 10 and SmartScout -- this article draws on those tests. See the full Helium 10 review and SmartScout review for detailed methodology.
How do the main alternatives compare at a glance?
| Tool | Best replacement for | Starting price | All-in-one? | Free option |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Helium 10 | Everything Viral Launch did | $99/mo (Platinum) | Yes | No (14-day trial) |
| SmartScout | Market intelligence and brand research | $29/mo | No -- research only | 7-day money-back |
| Jungle Scout | Product research, simpler workflows | $49/mo | Partial | 7-day money-back |
| ZonGuru | Listing optimisation, niche intel | $49/mo | Partial | 7-day free trial |
| DataDive | Keyword clustering and listing research | $35/mo | No | 7-day trial |
Does Helium 10 replace Viral Launch like-for-like?
Yes -- more completely than any other single tool.
Viral Launch had four core pillars: product research (Market Intelligence), keyword research (Keyword Research and Reverse ASIN tools), listing optimisation (Listing Builder), and PPC optimisation (Kinetic PPC). Helium 10 covers all four plus account monitoring, fraud alerts, and inventory management. If you ran the full Viral Launch suite, you will find equivalent functionality in Helium 10 without needing a second subscription.
I tested Black Box (Helium 10's product research module) against what I remembered from Market Intelligence. Black Box is better. You can filter by monthly revenue, review count, number of sellers, and review velocity simultaneously, and the data updates daily. Market Intelligence was strong in its day, but Helium 10 has been investing in its data infrastructure heavily since 2024. The accuracy gap has widened in Helium 10's favour.
Cerebro (reverse ASIN keyword tool) is the most direct replacement for Viral Launch's Reverse ASIN lookup. Enter a competitor's ASIN, pull every keyword they rank for, and sort by estimated traffic. I ran the same competitors through both tools in early 2026 and Cerebro returned 40-60% more indexed keywords per ASIN than the Viral Launch equivalent had at its peak.
The most complete Amazon research suite -- product research, keyword data, listing optimisation, PPC, and account monitoring.
from $99/mo (Platinum)
Best for: Former Viral Launch users who want a single tool that covers everything. Especially strong for private label sellers who need both research and listing-level optimisation in one platform.
What works
- Black Box is best-in-class for product research. The filter depth -- revenue bands, review velocity, BSR range -- is unmatched. I identified three new private label opportunities in 90 minutes that would have taken a full day using Viral Launch's Market Intelligence.
- Cerebro and Magnet for keyword research. Cerebro's reverse ASIN data is consistently deeper than Viral Launch's was. Magnet surfaces long-tail keyword variations that keyword-first tools miss.
- AI Listing Optimizer. The AI-generated listing copy is better than it was a year ago. It needs editing, but the first draft is usable rather than embarrassing.
- Profits and Alerts. Real-time financial tracking and automated alerts for listing hijacking, buybox loss, and review changes. Viral Launch had nothing equivalent to Alerts.
- Coupon code available. Use SELLERSTACK20 for 20% off for six months on any paid plan.
What does not
- You pay for 30 tools and use six. Helium 10's breadth is also its friction. It takes time to learn what everything does. Most sellers settle into a five or six tool workflow and ignore the rest.
- PPC module (Adtomic) is mid-tier. For dedicated Amazon PPC automation, Perpetua or Quartile go deeper. Viral Launch's Kinetic PPC had the same ceiling problem.
- Platinum plan has a one-user limit. Agencies or sellers working with VAs need Diamond at $279/month, which is a steep jump.
- No subcategory-level market mapping. For understanding the full shape of a category from the top down, Helium 10 still requires you to build that picture product by product. SmartScout does it in seconds.
What does SmartScout offer that Helium 10 does not?
SmartScout is not a Viral Launch replacement in the traditional sense. It does not have a listing builder. It does not have PPC tools. What it does -- better than any other tool -- is show you the structure of the Amazon marketplace from the top down: which brands own which subcategories, how revenue is distributed, where the gaps are.
If what you valued most in Viral Launch was the product intelligence and competitive monitoring side, SmartScout's approach is different and in some ways more powerful. You open a subcategory and see total revenue, brand market share, average price, average review count, and seller concentration -- all before looking at a single individual product. That top-down view surfaces opportunities that keyword-first research misses.
I used SmartScout to find wholesale brand sourcing opportunities across 12 subcategories in the kitchen accessories space over four weeks. The brand database (1.5 million brands, revenue estimates, contact details on some) made finding brands worth approaching for wholesale significantly faster than cold outreach from Helium 10 search results.
Brand-first Amazon market intelligence -- subcategory analysis, competitive mapping, and wholesale brand sourcing.
from From $29/mo
Best for: Experienced sellers who need market-level intelligence, wholesale sourcers, and anyone who has exhausted keyword-first research and wants to understand Amazon from the category level down.
What works
- Subcategory browser. 40,000+ Amazon subcategories with revenue estimates and competitive density. Filtering for high-revenue, low-brand-concentration subcategories finds opportunities in minutes.
- Brand database. 1.5 million brands with estimated revenue, product counts, and seller data. Wholesale sourcers use this to build target lists faster than any other method.
- Seller Map. Visual map of which third-party sellers carry which brands. For competitive intelligence, this is uniquely useful.
- Traffic Graph. Shows which keywords drive traffic to a product or brand. Surfaces non-obvious keyword relationships that Helium 10's linear reverse ASIN lookup misses.
- SmartScout coupon. Use SELLERSTACKED25 for 25% off for three months.
- TikTok Shop analytics is now available in SmartScout if you are expanding beyond Amazon. See the SmartScout TikTok Shop analytics guide for how it compares.
What does not
- Not a full replacement on its own. You still need Helium 10 or Jungle Scout for listing optimisation, PPC, and account monitoring. SmartScout is best used alongside another suite, not instead of one.
- Essentials plan ($97/mo) is the minimum for serious use. The Basic plan at $29/mo excludes Seller Map, Traffic Graph, and advanced search -- the features that make SmartScout distinct. Do not judge it on Basic.
- Data can lag on newly listed products. Very recent ASINs sometimes take a week or two to appear with full data. Not a major problem, but worth knowing.
What about Jungle Scout, ZonGuru, and DataDive?
These three tools are worth knowing about even if they are not the best all-round replacements for Viral Launch:
Jungle Scout is the most popular choice for newer Amazon sellers. The interface is cleaner than Helium 10, the product database is solid, and at $49/month the price is lower. It does not have PPC tools and its keyword data is less deep than Helium 10's Cerebro. For a seller who used Viral Launch primarily for product research and basic keyword work, Jungle Scout is a reasonable and cheaper option. The SmartScout vs Helium 10 vs Jungle Scout comparison covers the trade-offs in detail.
ZonGuru is strong on listing optimisation and review analytics. Its Niche Finder and Business Dashboard are genuinely useful. For sellers who used Viral Launch primarily for its listing builder and wanted cleaner review analysis, ZonGuru covers those use cases at competitive pricing. It does not match Helium 10's breadth on keyword research.
DataDive is a specialist keyword clustering tool. If you ran keyword research-heavy workflows through Viral Launch and want the deepest possible keyword analysis, DataDive's clustering approach produces listing-optimised keyword sets that generic reverse ASIN tools cannot replicate. It is not a full suite -- pair it with Helium 10 or ZonGuru for the rest.
Which Viral Launch alternative fits your situation?
| Your situation | Best alternative |
|---|---|
| You used Viral Launch for everything -- want a single replacement | Helium 10 Platinum |
| You want the lowest-cost tool that covers product research basics | Jungle Scout ($49/mo) |
| You used Viral Launch's market intelligence heavily | SmartScout Essentials |
| You mainly cared about listing optimisation and keyword research | ZonGuru or Helium 10 |
| You want deep keyword clustering for listing copy | DataDive + Helium 10 |
| You are a wholesale sourcer building brand target lists | SmartScout (essential) |
| You want the best PPC automation alongside research | Helium 10 + Perpetua or Quartile |
The short version: Helium 10 replaces Viral Launch most completely for private label sellers. SmartScout adds a layer of market intelligence that Viral Launch did not have and no other tool provides in the same way. Many serious Amazon sellers run both -- at $99 and $97/month respectively, the combined cost is higher than Viral Launch was, but the capability jump is significant.
